Coaching (on the Job)

Together the coach and the coachee investigate what effective behavior within a certain context is, and what is needed in order to reach the desired goals.

 

After a telephone interview to determine the areas in which coaching is required, an intake session will be conducted to further refine the coaching question. During the learning process, the coachee will be responsible for writing reflection reports and may be required to do homework assignments. At all times, the responsibility for the issues around the coaching question lies with the coachee.

 

HumanDimensions offers individual and team coaching, using Creative Action Method forms such as voice dialogue, NLP, systematic working, storytelling, sociodrama and psychodrama. The approach used is dependent on the coaching issues and the learning style of the coachee.

Examples of coaching issues for individuals:

  • How can I get support for my ideas?
  • I don’t have any formal authority, but I’m responsible for rolling out European-wide projects – how do I do that? 
  • I’d like to be more visible as a leader but don’t know how to do that. 
  • I will be working more internationally, how should I deal with the cultural differences I will encounter? 
  • How can I be more strategically influential? 
  • I just can’t choose…what should I be doing now? 
  • I really want to be able to give persuasive and interesting presentations…

 

 Examples of coaching questions for teams:

  • To be honest, we don’t really trust each other, which is why we don’t reach our goals. 
  • We don’t get what we need from our manager. 
  • We aren’t even really a team… 
  • It seems like everyone is going for different goals… 
  • It’s going pretty good, but I think we have so much more potential. 
  • We have people in our team with very different cultural backgrounds – and that creates tension.
